Nelson Mandela International Day

“What counts in life, is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others, that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”NELSON MANDELA.

Today I have chosen to walk as a Mrs Bold South Africa Finalist in the foot steps of Nelson Mandela.

I know this day has significant meaning to me personally. As a woman I have faced poverty, abuse, breast cancer and many more adversities in the past. The biggest lesson I have learnt,- If you want to see change, be the change ! Lead as an example for positive changes. As Mr Mandela stood for the fundamental rights of all human beings, regardless of gender, nationality or race. Marking this global day, and calling on everyone to take action, and do their bit by doing volunteer work and community services.  Helping those who are less fortunate.  Standing for truth, justice and women’s rights.

Mr Mandela has been a very big role model for the world, including myself. . I have chosen on this very significant day, to serve my communities and local business owners. I strive to make a difference and leave a legacy of my own behind, through Mrs Bold’s amazing platform.

I have spent the morning with the owner of Worthy Woman (In Action) – Salome Werner 10 Charities.

  • CANSA
  • ETHAN Autism Hub
  • Benevolent Park – Retirement Home
  • Simply Sow
  • Pixie Link Foundation
  • Eden Protocol
  • Sandkasteel Creche ACVV
  • The Myrtle Tree
  • Huis Elsje
  • Ethan Project

I have personally hand crochet 210 cup holders for each person in my charities, leaving something personally made by myself with them.

In the afternoon I visited – De Dekke Restaurant, Grootbrak River, Western Cape. I met with the owner Anton Leonard (retired Springbok Rugby player), and surprised him with my art piece. I dedicated this art piece to De Dekke Restaurant, as a big thank you. Anton has sponsored his restaurant venue twice for my events, and have been consistently supporting my journey. The staff are amazing, always happy to see me, going out of their way to help. A big shout out to Stephan Leonard, Christopher, Charne and Druran, always helping and smiling. My Groot-Brak River community are like family.

Through this journey I have reached many hearts and souls. No matter how big or small I strive to make a difference !!! I pride myself to stand and be the VOICE for The VOICELESS. Leading and encouraging all to make a difference.

Like Madiba would say :
“A Winner is a Dreamer who Never gives up !”
Be Bold, be courageous and make a difference together ️.
