Supporting Communities on Mandela Day

As I mentioned in my interview, my biggest desire is to support communities, especially on Mandela Day. This year, I visited an orphanage home and donated some food. It was heartbreaking to see the situation there, but it reinforced my commitment to making a difference. I chose this orphanage because they rarely receive any support. Most of the time, they survive solely on contributions. Inspired by former President Mandela’s encouragement of the spirit of Ubuntu and the importance of giving to the less fortunate, I felt compelled to help.
I took it upon myself to cook food for the orphans and donate it to them. I spent almost the entire day with them, engaging and sharing moments of joy. It was an exciting opportunity to embody the values of Mrs Bold. NPO Angels of Tomorrow was also involved, along with the dedicated caregivers. I donated food to the needy to give hope and support to their lives. The event took place in Seweding, a village in the North West Province, Mafikeng, on July 18, 2024, starting at 14:00.

As a Mrs Bold finalist, my goal is to change as many lives as I can and engage actively with the community. This experience was a step towards fulfilling that mission. Witnessing the struggles of motherless children firsthand was a profound experience. It was heartbreaking to see their challenges, but knowing that my contribution brought some relief was incredibly rewarding.
My message to the readers is simple: let’s support our communities. Seek support from the government, businesses, and each other. Our children should not be abandoned—they deserve our care and attention.
